The Consequences of Our Sin

Like many physical diseases, the consequence of sin is death.

  • Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7)
  • The soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Ezekiel 18:20)
  • For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life thrugh Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23)

Being dead spiritually cuts us off from the blessing of fellowship with God in this life. The Bible tells us that the eternal consequences are even more serious:

  • The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. (Psalm 9:17)
  • So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:49-50)

Fortunately for us, God in His love has provided a way for us to avoid the penalty for our sin.
