The Bible has shown us that we are sinners, and the penalty for sin. But, God is a loving God. Love does not mean that God will not punish sin. The Bible says that sin will be punished. Love means that, God has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty on our behalf through His death on a cross. Jesus Christ has paid the penalty so that we don't have to.
- But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)
- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17)
- But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
- But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. (Hebrews 2:9)
Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
