Repentance
This means that you are not only sorry for your sin, but you intend to turn from sin.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3)
Acceptance
This means that you accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour. You acknowledge his death on the cross as payment of your penalty for your sin.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. (John 1:12)
Obedience
Honestly intend in your heart that, with God's help, you will live your life the way Jesus wants you to.
If you love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15)
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:4)
Pray Now
Prayer is simply turning your thoughts and your heart toward God and speaking to him.
If you really want to find God, pray to him right now. Pray in your own words and pour your heart out to him as though he is right there in the room with you.
You may want to mention the following things as you pray:
- Acknowledge that you are a sinner
- Ask forgiveness for your sin in Jesus's name
- Accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord
- Ask for God's presence and his help in your new life.
- Anything else you would like to say to God.
