We can repay God for his love for us by turning around and loving our fellow human beings.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:34-35)

For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. (1 John 3:11)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:7,10)
