Family Ministries presents a Parent Forum on Anxiety and Depression taught by Diane Magee and Erin Bennington from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Student Ministry Building.
A brief information session regarding depression and anxiety in kids, teens and adults. Discussion will include how to identify if there is a problem, common sources of anxiety and depression, positive coping strategies to use at home with your kids and when to recognize a need for a higher level of care.
DIANE MAGEE is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and have received training from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Diane is a Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, a PCI Certified Parent Coach, and is Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C). Diane's approach to counseling is largely goal-oriented and solutions-focused, and employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other proven coaching methods to help her clients retrain their brains and overcome inaccurate or irrational thoughts. Before starting Framework Counseling Center, Diane was a member of Summit Medical Group and a psychotherapist with East Orange General Hospital in East Orange, New Jersey.
ERIN BENNINGTON is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University and a BA in Psychology from Wheaton College. Erin has extensive experience in grief and loss, and has worked in both clinical and hospice settings with clients of all ages. She specializes in empowering adolescents and adults to overcome difficult life transitions, from grief and loss to relationship, job, and school issues.
