The Cross-Shaped Life
In “The Shepherd,” Pastor Ted Voltmer details Jesus, the Good Shepherd. As the Good Shepherd, Jesus, loves us, helps us, guides us, and protects us in our daily lives. His life demonstrates committed love. As we follow His example, we are called away from being self-focused, from doing “just enough,” and striving to look good. Instead, our lives become more focused on others, going above and beyond in all that we do; and finally, seeking to do good.
Lent is a season of reflection, repentance, and preparation—a time to align our hearts with the heart of Jesus. And there is nothing more central to the heart of Jesus than the cross. This Lent, we’ll discover that the cross wasn’t just the way Jesus died; it was the way he lived. And we’ll hear his invitation to live the same way: following in his footsteps and sharing in his suffering, as we anticipate the joy of Easter.
